My wife and I got into wine a couple years ago, we aren’t wine snobs but just enjoy a good bottle of wine with dinner or to relax and unwind. There are several restaurants in Las Vegas, which also have a wine store on the premises. One of our favorites is called the “Viaggio“, it is a contemporay Italian restaurant which serves high quality food, at a reasonable price.
One of the things we really like about the Viaggio, in addition to the great food is ordering “flights’ of wine. Basically a flight is a small sampling of wine, about the size of a shot glass. We normally order a flight of about 6 wines, and choose a favorite and then buy a case to take home and drink later. This is a great way of sampling wines, and not ending up with a wine you don’t like.
The Viaggio also has wine tasting dinners every couple of months, which are normally sponsored by one or two winery’s. The staff is very liberal with the samples for the wine tastings. I’d highly recommend tryin out the Viaggio if you are ever in Las Vegas.
